’Tor Mór’ Charter boat and ‘Tirconnell Charters’ have many satisfied clients who have enjoyed Irish - Sea fishing and sea angling at its best. Beginners are always welcome with skipper Donal, providing expert tuition, with patience based on his wealth of experience.
To charter this fishing vessel, you can reassure yourself and your companions that you have hired a Charter boat which will provide all the necessary equipment: both angling, and Dept of the Marine certified safety apparatus, which you and your fellow anglers will require to have an excellent day at sea.

Tor Mór charter boat
Our sea going angling boat is available for charter from Rosbeg pier and Portnoo Pier in Co. Donegal.
Tor Mór Charter Boat, is a state of the art Kingfisher 31 sport, sea angling charter vessel.
She is powered by a 500Hp Iveco engine with a cruising speed of 15 knots.
Tor Mór is fitted with all necessary safety and navigation equipment.
This charter boat is 1 year old and is built to EU certification standards.
Tor Mór is surveyed by the Dept. of the Marine and holds a P5 licence issued by the deparetment as a passenger vessel, licensed to carry up to 12 passengers and 2 crew members.
She is insured to carry 12 adventurers or anglers who wish to tackle and reel in the native fish of Co. Donegal.
Tor Mór has a spacious aft deck suitable for angling, with seating inside and out.
The technical equipment aboard Tor Mór includes: a colour plotter, fish finder, GPS plotter , VHF radio, EPERB and a 16 man life raft with life jackets for all.
The Tor Mór charter experience will take you the heart of a pristine fishing habitat where one can become hooked on fishing.
Line fishing can be relaxing - wiling away companionable hours in fresh air, building up an appetite with fishy talk and then you reel in the catch of the day.
Sea angling can also be competitive: fish against man – rods strain against dives and impressive runs as the big fish attempt their dash to freedom. Boys vie against the girls,the young in competition with the older, left sides of the boat against the right side.
Angling
Rods and fishing tackle are provided on board Tor Mór.
There are a wealth of reefs in the area and sea going Anglers and their fishing companions can enjoy an adventurous day on a fishing expedition.
The lure of the Atlantic ocean is all too apparent in the clear, clean, unspoilt and pristine waters off our coastline.
- The Pelagic or oily species locally include: Mackerel with their stunning iridescent coloring and Herring.
Both of these pelagic fish are found aplenty along our coastline.
- Demersal or those who inhabit the area just above the sea bed include: Pollack,Coley, Cod, Haddock, Ling ,Wrasse and Mullet.
- Bottom
dwellers include: Thornback Ray, Dabs, Turbot, Tope and Dogfish or Rock Salmon.
- Blue Shark are in season from Mid July to November
and nowadays there is the possibly
of Blue Fin Tuna from Mid September to November.
- Recent sightings of porpoises and dolphins are testament to the abundance of food. And the sighting of basking sharks indicates that plankton life abounds.
We cater for the serious and the not so serious angler of all ages, children are welcome too as long you remember that hooks which catch fish can also catch children!

Diving
Donegal enjoys some of the clearest waters in western Europe and has many outstanding underwater geographic features: including rock faces, gullies, seemingly endless drops and boulder fields.
The South west coast of Co. Donegal around Portnoo and Rosbeg provides visitors with the opportunity to experience some of the best diving sites in Donegal and we can organise short weekend dives exploring the area.
Those who have enjoyed the pleasure of diving in our waters rave about the quality of the water.
Tor Mór has a stern dive platform and ladder with lots of deck space making it an excellent vessel for diving.
We can go on scuba diving trips to the underwater caves and fantastic wall dives that are found around the South-west Donegal area.
Sight Seeing
We offer our private charter boat for pleasure cruises.
We will cater for groups of up to 12 people, families, around the Dowros Bay coastal waters in South West Donegal
and local water
Within easy access of Rosbeg and Portnoo are 'Sliabh a Thuaibh', with one of the countries largest grey seal colonies, sea stacks including 'An Tor Mór' , 'The Eisteans' , Gúb an Diabhail, and Ráthlin Ó Beirne island.
Seal, Dolphin & Whale Spotting
Sliabh a Thuaibh', has one of the countries largest grey seal colonies. Dolphins have frolicked in the water along the boat and a huge Basking Shark was spotted just outside of Rosbeg harbor in July this year. We havespotted Sunfish and Killer Whales have been photographed from Tor Mór.
Bird Watching
Seabirds are numerous and constant visitors while the boat is out in the bay. They include Cormorant, Shag, Curlew, Gulls, Guillemot, Razorbill, Fulmar, Gannet and Razorbill.
